Responsibilities
The role involves client interaction, issue analysis, application support, and functional/regression testing of business modules.
Analyze and resolve critical production queries within defined SLAs
Write and execute test scripts after understanding various business modules (Message Analysis, Enrichment, GUI Display, Routing)
Prepare test data and messages for volume/performance testing
Perform GUI testing, business regression testing, and defect validation
4–5 years of hands-on experience in Application Support / Testing (preferably in Banking/Financial Services domain)
Proven expertise in production issue analysis, client communication, and SLA adherence
Strong experience with SQL, scripting, and test case preparation
Exposure to critical business applications and regression testing cycles
Technical Skills Required
Operating Systems: AIX / Linux / Windows (log analysis, basic admin)
Databases: SQL (data validation, query writing, test data preparation)
Scripting: Shell scripting (AIX/Linux), basic Python/PowerShell
Testing: Manual Testing, Regression Testing, GUI Testing, Volume/Performance Testing
Messaging Systems: Knowledge of SWIFT/ISO20022, MQ, or similar financial messaging formats (preferred in banking domain)
Test Management Tools: JIRA / HP ALM / QC (test case management, defect tracking)
Debugging & Analysis: Log analysis, error tracing, replication in test environments
Application Support: Production support workflows, SLA adherence, root cause analysis
Networking Basics: TCP/IP, client-server communication troubleshooting
Monitoring Tools: Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace (for log monitoring & diagnosis)
Version Control: Git / SVN (for script and test asset management)
Automation: Exposure to Selenium / JMeter (automation & performance testing)
ITIL Knowledge: Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes
Banking/Payments Domain: Payment systems, SWIFT messages, ISO20022, Clearing & Settlement
