15 years full time educationSummary: As an Application Lead, you will lead the effort to design, build, and configure applications, acting as the primary point of contact. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure that application requirements are met, overseeing the development process, and providing guidance to team members. You will also engage in problem-solving activities, ensuring that the applications are functioning optimally and meeting the needs of the organization. Your role will require effective communication and coordination with stakeholders to align project goals and deliverables. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to be an SME in Microsoft SQL Server domain. - Collaborate and manage the team to perform. - Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Microsoft SQL Server (2012–2022) instances. - Manage database creation, configuration, tuning, and security. - Perform database backups, restores, and integrity checks. - Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting SQL Server databases. - Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies for SQL Server. - Knowledge of security best practices for database management. - Monitor and troubleshoot slow queries, long-running transactions, and index fragmentation. - Optimize performance using indexing strategies, query optimization, and execution plan analysis. - Use tools like SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and Database Tuning Advisor. - Deploy and manage SQL Server in cloud environments like Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, SQL on Azure VM & Amazon RDS for SQL Server - Support hybrid connectivity, backup-to-cloud, and DR solutions across cloud and on-premises. - Implement and maintain database security policies: authentication, authorization, auditing, and encryption (TDE, Always Encrypted). - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX). - Perform regular user access reviews and permission audits. - Design and maintain HA/DR solutions using always On Availability Groups & Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, Replication. - Participate in DR drills and document failover/failback procedures. - Automate routine tasks using T-SQL, PowerShell, or SQL Agent Jobs. - Use monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds DPA, Redgate, SentryOne, Azure Monitor) for proactive health checks and alerting. Professional & Technical Skills: -Must Have Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server Administration. -Maintain runbooks, change logs, and configuration documentation. -Provide L2/L3 support for database incidents and service requests. -Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams. -Need to have experience in SQL Server 2012–2022, SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS -Need to have experience in HA/DR -Always On AGs, Log Shipping, Replication, Clustering -Experience in cloud platforms Azure SQL DB, SQL Managed Instance, SQL on Azure VM, Amazon RDS -Experience in Scripting & Automation T-SQL, PowerShell, SQL Agent -Experience in Monitoring & Tools Redgate, SolarWinds DPA, SentryOne, Azure Monitor, Extended event -Experience Security TDE, Always Encrypted, RBAC & Auditing -Experience in Native SQL backup, Commvault, Veeam (optional) -Experience in Git, Azure DevOps, Redgate Source Control -Excellent communication and documentation abilities. -Ability to work independently and collaboratively. -Strong attention to detail and process orientation.
