Role purpose

  • This position has the role of detecting and stopping all actions with potențial risk that may generate financial losses or unpleasant experiences to Vodafone/ Vodacom customers. It will ensure that by using the principles of prevention and alertness to risks it will support the achievement of the company's objectives and reduce losses of any kind by identifying and analyzing the computer threats that may have a financial reputational or regulatory impact on the Company.
  • The role aims to identify behaviors that can indicate money laudendring intent and implements measures to prevent and control such instances
  • Through his/her activity, is responsible for maintaining a good image of Vodafone/ Vodacom in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a detailed analysis of all cases presented to identify suspicious Money Laudering (ML) risk on transactions done using the Mpesa platform (Many to One, One to Many, Circular transactions etc.)
  • Carry out the KYC Screening process as per the process laid out
  • Based on recommendations from manager monitors the cases and the activity of the analysts and evaluates them according to the quality standards, taking into account the recommended weight according to the business needs
  • Proposes objectives and actions in consultation with Team manager to improve the quality level and communicates them periodically to the team.
  • Has the role of trainer using his experience and knowledge, showing patience in explaining and accommodating new information, making training materials and updating periodically, depending on new procedures.
  • Be a support system to the team in times buddy up programs -new joinees, operational support, emergencies/crisis/escalations (surges, IT calls handling, partner observations etc.)
  • Act as a liaise between executives and Team Leader and share feedback/observations on outstanding situations in team (Ethics and whistle-blower reporting (Team/Process)
  • Chalks out a glide Path for the bottom quartiles to improve performance with the guidance from TL
  • Ensure that the time bound activities are performed within timelines specified: Reporting, publishing various reports to markets, MIS etc.
  • Delivering partner promise - seamless delivery of services, achievement of KPIs
  • Sharing inputs/insights with team manager that need attention from markets and post validation from team manager referring it to the market
  • Respect the provisions of the Internal regulation , discipline norms of the Company and complies with the Code of conduct

Deliverables

  • Detailed and timely analysis of the cases reported in order to confirm or deny the suspicion either on the KYC Name Screening front or on Transaction Monitoring
  • Elaboration and archiving of a centralized report with all the quality information per agent and at activity / department level, which it presents whenever it is requested.
  • Timely escalation of suspected cases the Supervisor for further action
  • A level of quality at least at the level of the objective established in the department
  • Sending, at the end of each working day, the daily activity report to the direct manager, at his/her request.

  • Creates and promotes a working environment that encourages both individual and team performance to provide Vodafone/ Vodacom customers with quality services
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, Team Leaders and Company Managers
  • Demonstrates team spirit by collaborating with other members and working in good faith on all common activities
  • Engages in reporting and monitoring Performance Indicators (KPI's) and Service Delivery Standards (SLA's)
  • Availability and flexibility in offering help to teammates or other departments in common areas.
  • Offers recommendations for improving work processes

People management

If assigned he/she should carryout people management responsibilities such as

  • Setting clear expectations and performance goals for direct reports/team members
  • Providing regular feedback and conducting performance reviews to direct reportees/team members
  • Addressing performance issues for the direct reports/ team members and developing improvement plans
  • Providing coaching and mentoring to help employees develop their skills
  • Acting as a liaison between employees and upper management
  • Communicating effectively with team members facilitating open communication and knowledge sharing, conflict resolution and promoting collaboration and teamwork
