Accounts Receivable (AR) Executive – UK Accounting

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (AR) Executive

 

Key Responsibilities


Invoicing & Billing

  • Raise

    accurate sales invoices

    in line with contracts, POs, and agreed terms.
  • Ensure correct VAT treatment and invoice formats as per UK requirements.
  • Maintain proper invoice documentation and audit trails.

  

Receivables Management

  • Track

    customer receipts

    , allocations, and outstanding balances.
  • Maintain AR ageing reports and highlight overdue balances.
  • Follow up internally or externally on discrepancies or delayed payments.

 

Reconciliations

  • Perform

    customer ledger reconciliations

    on a regular basis.
  • Reconcile AR balances with bank receipts and general ledger.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice mismatches, short payments, or unapplied cash.

  

Month-End & Reporting

  • Support month-end AR closing activities.
  • Prepare AR schedules for management reporting and audits.
  • Coordinate with UK finance teams for confirmations and clarifications.

  

Process & Controls

  • Ensure invoicing and collections processes follow internal controls.
  • Support process improvements and automation initiatives within AR.

  

Qualifications & Skills

  • B.Com in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance. ACCA preferred.
  • 2–5 years of hands-on AR or invoicing experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero and Excel (Pivot Tables, Lookups).
  • Understanding of basic UK VAT concepts.
  • High attention to detail and ownership mindset.
  • Good communication skills for coordination with internal and UK teams.
  • (Preferred) Experience with Xero, QuickBooks, or Zoho Books.
