Job Description

Job Title: Finance and Accounts Head

Department: Finance
Reporting To: Managing Director / CEO
Location: Lucknow
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Purpose:

To lead the finance and accounts department by overseeing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and internal control systems to ensure the financial health and statutory compliance of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:1. Financial Planning & Strategy

  • Develop and implement long-term financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
  • Prepare forecasts, budgets, and financial models to support decision-making.

2. Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Supervise day-to-day accounting operations (AR/AP, GL, bank reconciliations, etc.).
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
  • Prepare and present financial statements as per statutory requirements (e.g., Indian GAAP/IFRS).

3. Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost control measures.

4. Taxation & Compliance

  • Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory returns.
  • Liaison with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.

5. Audit & Internal Controls

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors for periodic audits.
  • Establish and monitor robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.

6. Team Management

  • Lead, guide, and mentor the finance and accounts team.
  • Set KPIs and conduct performance reviews.

7. Banking & Treasury

  • Manage banking operations, including cash flow, fund management, and loan negotiations.
  • Maintain relationships with financial institutions.

8. MIS & Analysis

  • Provide accurate MIS reports to management for strategic planning.
  • Conduct financial analysis to highlight variances and recommend improvements.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, SAP, ERP, etc.).
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Decision-making and strategic thinking.

Qualification & Experience:

  • MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
