Accountant

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and assisting in the budgeting and auditing processes. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and examine financial records, statements, and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded Update accounts receivable and issue invoices Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and other financial documents Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting Maintain general ledger and support month-end and year-end close processes Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Assist with the implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls and procedures Requirements & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar role (2+ years preferred) Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS) Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) Proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills CPA or CMA certification (preferred but not required) Preferred Skills: Knowledge of tax regulations and reporting requirements Experience with financial analysis and reporting tools Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Compensation & Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan options (401(k), pension, etc.) Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for professional development and training
