Job Title: WordPress - Team Lead

Location: Ahmedabad

Job Type: Full-time

Working Hours: 11:00 AM IST to 8:00 PM IST

About role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated WordPress Team Lead to guide and mentor our WordPress development team. This role is ideal for someone who not only has strong technical expertise in custom WordPress development but also excels in team leadership, project planning, and cross-functional collaboration. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of the WordPress websites, ensuring adherence to coding standards, project timelines, and performance expectations. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll lead by example—balancing technical execution, strategic direction, and people management.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of WordPress developers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and task prioritization.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and project managers to plan and deliver high-quality websites aligned with client expectations.
• Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
• Review code for performance, security, and scalability, ensuring alignment with best practices.
• Oversee the development of custom WordPress themes and plugins, ensuring modular, maintainable, and scalable codebases.
• Support the team in resolving complex bugs and performance issues across live and staging environments.
• Conduct regular one-on-one sessions, technical training, and mentoring to support team growth and capability building.
• Collaborate with QA and deployment teams to streamline releases and ensure issue-free project delivery.
• Ensure SEO best practices, accessibility, and responsive design standards are integrated into all projects.
• Proactively explore and introduce AI tools or other innovations to improve development speed and quality.
• Provide technical documentation, performance reports, and client-ready updates when required.

Desired Skills:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in WordPress development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team lead role.
• Expertise in custom WordPress theme and plugin development.
• Strong command over front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Advanced experience with Elementor, ACF, Page Builder plugins, and WooCommerce.
• Must have experience in integrating third-party APIs into WordPress websites.
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills using browser tools like Chrome Inspector, Firebug, etc.
• Solid understanding of PHP, MySQL, and RESTful APIs.
• Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead team discussions and client interactions.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with Git workflows and CI/CD deployment practices.
• Exposure to Shopify, BigCommerce, or other CMS/eCommerce platforms.
• Experience collaborating with international teams, especially US-based clients.
• Proficiency in using AI-assisted coding tools or low-code platforms.
