About the Role

The VP of Engineering will lead multiple engineering teams responsible for building high-performance, scalable, secure, and reliable products across Innovaccer’s Data Activation Platform and core healthcare solutions. This role requires a seasoned technology leader who can drive engineering strategy, build strong teams, ensure operational excellence, and collaborate closely with Product, Architecture, Platform, and Customer Success to deliver world-class products.

You will define the engineering roadmap, elevate execution maturity, drive modern engineering best practices, and nurture a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence.


A Day in the Life

Engineering Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and own the long-term engineering strategy and roadmap aligned with Innovaccer’s vision.
  • Lead engineering organizations across product lines, data platforms, infrastructure, AI/ML, and enterprise systems.
    Drive architectural evolution toward scalable, modular, and high-performance systems.

Execution & Delivery Excellence

  • Ensure timely, high-quality software delivery across multiple teams and functions.
  • Implement engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, security-first development, and reliability engineering.
  • Establish strong processes for sprint planning, estimation, OKRs, and engineering metrics.

Product Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Product Leadership to translate business priorities into technical roadmaps.
  • Ensure alignment between product goals, engineering bandwidth, and delivery timelines.
  • Bring customer-centricity into engineering decision-making.

Team Building & People Leadership

  • Hire, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering leaders, managers, and architects.
    Build a strong culture of ownership, learning, innovation, and engineering excellence.
  • Drive goal-setting, performance management, succession planning, and talent retention.

Platform, Security & Quality

  • Lead efforts around data platform scalability, infrastructure modernization, cloud optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Ensure robust security, compliance, and privacy standards (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2).
    Drive quality engineering practices, reducing tech debt, improving reliability, and strengthening SLAs.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work seamlessly with Customer Success, Data, Compliance, Security, and Architecture teams.
  • Support pre-sales engineering, customer escalations, and enterprise engagements when required.
  • Represent engineering in executive-level discussions and strategic initiatives.

Innovation & Thought Leadership

  • Champion emerging technologies, including AI/ML, LLMs, automation, and next-gen healthcare integrations.
  • Lead R&D initiatives to enhance platform capabilities and competitive differentiation.
  • Influence product direction with deep technical insights and market awareness.

What You Need

  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 5+ years leading large engineering organizations.
  • Proven success in building and scaling complex enterprise platforms (preferably SaaS).
  • Experience with data platforms, distributed systems, high-scale architectures, and cloud-native ecosystems.
  • Background in healthcare technology is a strong plus.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Expertise in microservices, data engineering, APIs, and performance optimization.
  • Strong grounding in security, compliance, and reliability engineering.
  • Exceptional people leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strong decision-making, prioritization, and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across functions and executive levels.
  • Customer-centric mindset with focus on quality, outcomes, and long-term impact.
