Vessel Performance Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze vessel performance data, including fuel efficiency, speed profiles, engine health, and voyage trends
• Identify inefficiencies and propose actionable improvement strategies to enhance vessel operations
• Coordinate closely with technical managers/superintendents to investigate and resolve performance-related issues.
• Coordinate with SSH team for vessel status and way forward.
• Interface with clients (ship owners, managers, operators) to provide insights, reports, and support for performance-related queries
• Manage client expectations and ensure timely resolution of reported concerns or issues
• Prepare performance reports, dashboards, and regular updates tailored to client requirements
• Provide feedback to product or software development teams based on client use and data insights
• Assist in the implementation of energy efficiency and emission reduction initiatives
• Stay updated on IMO regulations (EEXI, CII, SEEMP) and support clients in compliance efforts
• Participate in vessel trials, audits, or inspections if required

Eligibility Criteria:

• Mandatory:

  Sailing experience as a

  3rd Engineer (Marine Engineer Officer – Class IV COC)

• Shore experience:

  Minimum 1–2 years in a technical, operations, or vessel performance role
• Hands-on understanding of shipboard machinery and operational practices
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage client interactions independently
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights
• Familiarity with vessel performance platforms and marine analytics tools is an advantage
• Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools
• Exposure to decarbonization and energy efficiency practices in maritime operations is a plus
