US mortgage / Underwriting

Role Overview:

US Mortgage Operations

Key Skills:

Minimum 1 year experience in US Mortgage - Underwriting.
Strong understanding of underwriting guidelines and compliance standards.
Underwriter should have the ability to read the guidelines to determine whether each loan meets the requisite guideline as specified by the Client.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle end-to-end
US Mortgage Operations
including data entry, processing, and review of mortgage-related financial and non-financial transactions as per predefined guidelines
Perform
manual underwriting
of mortgage loan files to ensure compliance with client, investor, and regulatory guidelines
Interpret and apply
US mortgage underwriting and mortgage insurance guidelines
accurately for each loan
Run and analyze
AUS systems (Desktop Underwriter / Loan Prospector)
and validate data integrity against loan documentation
Review and verify
employment documentation
and ensure adherence to guideline requirements
Perform detailed
income calculations
for salaried, self-employed, rental, and other income sources
Validate and analyze
assets
including bank statements, 401(k), mutual funds, and other investment instruments
Assess the usage of assets for
income qualification and loan eligibility
Identify missing or pending documents, maintain trackers, and perform timely
follow-ups
to ensure case completion within SLAs
Ensure high accuracy, data integrity, and compliance while meeting productivity and quality benchmarks
Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders through
clear verbal and written communication
Adhere to internal SOPs, compliance standards, and audit requirements
