About the Role:

Unix or Linux Administrators are responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of software systems by applying software engineering principles to IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and Automation:

  SREs monitor system performance and automate manual processes to improve efficiency and reliability.

• Incident Management:

  They respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.

• Capacity Planning:

  SREs assess system capacity and plan for future growth to ensure scalability.

• Collaboration:

  They work closely with development teams to integrate reliability into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Disaster Recovery:

  SREs prepare and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.

• Performance Optimization:

  They analyze system performance and make recommendations for improvements.

You’ll Bring:

• Technical Proficiency:

  Strong knowledge of operating systems (Linux), cloud services (AWS, Azure), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Programming Skills:

  Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java for automation and scripting tasks.

• Monitoring Tools:

  Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and ELK stack.

• DevOps Practices:

  Familiarity with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform.

• Problem-Solving:

  Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex system issues.

Work Environment

SREs typically work in fast-paced environments where they are expected to manage multiple tasks and respond to incidents promptly. They often collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and IT operations staff, to ensure the reliability and performance of applications and infrastructure
