Transport Assistant Manager

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Fleet Operations Support: Assist in the planning, coordination, and scheduling of transportation operations. Ensure proper allocation of vehicles for various transport needs. Monitor the performance and condition of vehicles to ensure they meet company standards. Support in the execution of daily transportation routes, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. Maintenance & Safety Compliance: Oversee routine maintenance and repairs of fleet vehicles, ensuring they are safe and in compliance with local regulations. Schedule regular inspections and manage repair work to minimize vehicle downtime. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and laws relating to the fleet's operation. Inventory & Cost Management: Assist with inventory management of spare parts and supplies for fleet vehicles. Monitor fuel consumption and report on efficiency improvements or areas for cost reduction. Help manage operating budgets for fleet maintenance, repairs, and related costs. Data Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of vehicle performance, maintenance logs, and operational data. Assist in generating reports on fleet utilization, costs, and efficiency for upper management. Analyze data and provide insights to improve fleet operations and reduce costs. Team Coordination & Training: Supervise, mentor, and support fleet drivers and staff. Assist in training drivers on safety protocols, vehicle operations, and customer service. Collaborate with the logistics and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations. Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement: Address issues or concerns related to fleet performance or driver behavior. Proactively identify opportunities to improve fleet efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
