Job Description

Key Responsibilities:1. Inspection & Quality Assurance

  • Carry out in-process and final inspection of transformers (core, winding, tanking, assembly, and final testing).
  • Ensure all materials, components, and accessories meet the required specifications and drawings.
  • Conduct inspections at various manufacturing stages—core building, coil winding, insulation, tank fabrication, assembly, and painting.
  • Verify dimensional accuracy, workmanship, and assembly clearances as per design.
  • Perform visual and mechanical inspections before and after testing.

2. Testing & Verification

  • Supervise and conduct routine, type, and special tests such as:
  • Insulation Resistance (IR)
  • Ratio and Vector Group Test
  • Winding Resistance
  • No-load and Short-circuit Loss Test
  • HV & LV Impulse Test
  • Temperature Rise Test
  • Oil BDV and Tan Delta Test
  • Record and verify test results against design and standards (IS, IEC).
  • Coordinate with clients and third-party inspectors (TPI) during witness tests.

3. Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, test records, and quality control documentation.
  • Ensure traceability of all materials, serial numbers, and test certificates.
  • Support preparation of Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Inspection Test Plan (ITP), and Method Statements.
  • Maintain calibration records of testing instruments and equipment.

4. Vendor & Client Coordination

  • Coordinate with suppliers for material inspection and quality verification of transformer components (core steel, winding wire, bushings, oil, etc.).
  • Interact with clients for inspection calls, approvals, and NCR (Non-Conformance Report) closures.
  • Support QA team in vendor evaluation and quality audits.

5. Standards & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as IS 1180, IS 2026, IEC 60076, IEEE standards, and customer-specific specifications.
  • Identify and report deviations, NCRs, and suggest corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor implementation of quality improvement measures in the production process.

Job Types: Full-time, Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: ₹26,785.34 - ₹65,318.47 per month
