Role Overview


Team Lead – Business Development (BD)


  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new opportunities in the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) services segment, including third-party O&M contracts and renewals.

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders such as retail clients, PSUs, Independent Power Producers (IPPs), wind farm owners, utilities, and government agencies.

  • Revenue Management: Drive revenue generation and ensure timely revenue collection through effective contract execution and client engagement.

  • Prepare and present commercial proposals, service offerings, and value-added solutions.
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis to understand trends and customer needs.
  • Coordinate with the technical, legal, and finance teams to structure contracts and proposals.
  • Drive negotiations for O&M agreements and long-term service contracts (LTSAs).
  • Ensure smooth onboarding of new clients and transition of assets into Suzlon’s O&M ecosystem.
  • Achieve assigned business development targets and report performance to leadership.
  • Represent Suzlon at renewable energy expos, industry events, and client meetings.

Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering
  • MBA in Marketing/Business Development (preferred)
  • 15+ years of experience in business development, preferably in renewable energy or power services
  • Experience in O&M or asset management business is highly desirable

Skills Required

  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of wind turbine O&M, service contracts, and energy regulations
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and basic knowledge of SAP
  • Willingness to travel extensively to meet clients and visit sites

Preferred Attributes

  • Proven track record of closing high-value service contracts
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with technical teams
  • Experience with SCADA-based performance reporting and uptime-based contracts is a plus
