Job Title:

Job Purpose:

The purpose of the Tax Manager is to lead and oversee the Tax Prep team and the Tax Admin and Client Tax Coordinator Teams in Ahmedabad. This role is a key point of contact with the US Tax/Accounting Management team, working to align performance metrics, policies, and goals across teams. The manager's responsibilities include providing coaching and support to supervisors to develop their team members and ensure efficient operations within the department.

The ideal candidate for this role is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the tax field. They must have a deep understanding of bookkeeping and its integration with tax preparation, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of the end-to-end tax preparation lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership:

  Oversee the Tax Prep team and the Tax Admin Supervisor, ensuring they meet performance expectations and goals.

• Strategic Oversight:

  Work closely with the US Tax/Accounting Management team on performance monitoring, goal setting, and implementing policies.

• Performance Management:

  Monitor the performance of the Tax Prep team and provide regular reports to US management.

• Process Improvement:

  Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the tax preparation teams.

• Staff Development:

  Provide coaching and development opportunities to supervisors to help them grow their leadership capabilities and foster a positive work environment.

• Compliance:

  Ensure that all teams are following established policies and procedures and are compliant with company standards, particularly US tax regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or tax preparation, with at least 2 years in a management role.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills, with a focus on developing management staff.
• Experience in overseeing large teams is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software, Excel, and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of US tax regulations and compliance standards is preferred.

Performance Metrics:

• Team Performance:

• Measured by the ability of the Ahmedabad teams to meet or exceed performance targets and KPIs.

• Reviewer Development:

• Success in coaching and developing supervisors to improve their leadership and team management skills.

• Collaboration with US Management:

• Effectiveness in aligning Ahmedabad operations with the goals and strategies set by the US Tax team.

• Process Efficiency:

• Success in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance team performance and operational efficiency.
