System Support Engineer

As a System Support Engineer based in Pune, you are required to have 2 to 4.5 years of hands-on support experience with exposure to networking. Your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - Providing middleware support for Apache Web Server, Apache Tomcat, and Java-based applications. - Installing, configuring, and maintaining middleware components such as Apache, Tomcat, Java, and SSL Certificates (WildFly, JBoss optional). - Offering system administration support for Java applications in various environments. - Analyzing logs and troubleshooting server and application issues for effective problem resolution. - Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors for system maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting. In-depth knowledge is expected in the following areas: - Setting up and optimizing Apache and Apache Tomcat, including JVM optimization, thread, and connection settings. - Troubleshooting Java applications, performing root cause analysis using stack traces and log analysis. - Understanding web application infrastructure tier and deployment processes. - Familiarity with networking concepts, application-related ports, and protocols. - Experience with source code repositories such as Bitbucket, TFS, Git, and utilizing JIRA for issue tracking and collaboration. Furthermore, you should have experience in: - Performance tuning and environment optimization for Apache, Tomcat, and WildFly. - Conducting system analysis to identify improvements and implement fixes. - Creating technical documentation for installations, configurations, and standard operating procedures. - Providing extended production support and on-call troubleshooting during critical incidents. - Possessing basic knowledge of Azure Cloud, desktop support, and networking fundamentals.
