A key role within the Allianz Business System (ABS) which deals with the Database Administration responsibilities starting from the basic database health check to the advanced level tasks like DB2 migrations, installations and support.
Responsibilities
- Database Object Management & Administration
- Guiding the team in all technical blockers and timely coordination to achieve appropriate solutions
- Execution of DML queries requested by Project team
- Perform ABS Version migration on all environments
- Analysis of failures in Batch jobs
- Performance monitoring & fine tuning
- Troubleshooting issues related to DB2,HADR
- IBM DB2 version upgrade activities
- Adhoc Restore and Cleanup activities
- Golive & Major release support
- Management of DB2 housekeeping scripts

Duties And Responsibilities
List in order of importance and state approximate weightage accorded to each.
Understanding the requirement from each Customers and setting up the database environment as per the design. Leading and coordinating the various Database Project Activities like – DB2 Database Build, Instance Creation, Database Object Creations and also providing guidance to the team15%Database Operational Activities like – Support to Data Migrations , ABS Version Migrations, Cleanups,DB2 Upgrades, Support for RHEL Migrations, Performance Tuning.Setup of DB2 HA clusters and maintenance.10%Analyse/Troubleshoot issues which includes the Batch Job failures, DB connectivity/access errors and co-ordinate with other support teams for resolution.15%Setup of the various DB Monitoring Tools/Front End Databases.10%Study and Documentation of all the newly implemented technologies/changes (process/technical)10%Identify areas of improvement and implement those ideas. Ensure that knowledge is shared with peers for all new implementations. Act as SPOC for projects to share updates, be available for meetings understanding the requirements in details and support the team if required for new projects.15%Responsible for technically leading the team. Collating data and providing status updates to Team lead as and when required. Supporting TL in review or appraisal process. Be accountable for all technical issues and finding solutions for the same.Technically guide team in RCA handling, Mentoring/training, Decision making on Technical level, Production Support, OE Onboarding.15%Follow all the ITIL practices applicable for the various processes involved.5%
