Studio Manager

Alkove-Design is seeking a Studio Manager to join its team in Pune.

Alkove-Design is an award-winning architecture and interior design practice based in Pune, Maharashtra. Founded in 2013 by principal architects Komal Mittal and Ninada Kashyap, the studio is committed to creating spaces that are both beautiful and environmentally responsible. Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Studio Manager based in Pune.

The Studio Manager will provide administrative support to the principal architects and design team while overseeing daily studio operations, essential to keeping the practice running smoothly and sustainably.

Responsibilities

Studio Operations

• Contribute to a positive studio culture and build strong relationships with team members and visitors
• Develop and maintain templates, checklists, protocols, and guidance documents
• Act as the first point of contact for studio admin matters with professionalism and approachability
• Coordinate IT support, software subscriptions, updates, and maintenance
• Oversee office purchasing (stationery, software, project documentation)
• Maintain a clean and functional studio environment, suggesting improvements proactively
• Manage vendor and contractor communication as needed
• Onboard new staff: setup, studio tour, orientation
• Organise internal events and presentations
• Ensure document filing aligns with the practice’s quality management system
• Monitor and manage timesheets and resourcing
• Respond to calls and email enquiries

Communications

• Manage social media presence: content creation, scheduling, engagement (Instagram, LinkedIn)
• Update website content via CMS
• Draft and send newsletters via Mailchimp
• Coordinate studio participation in awards and events
• Monitor inboxes and track relevant press
• Save press features to the practice masterlist

Business Development

• Identify new business opportunities via inbox and relevant platforms
• Maintain an industry events calendar
• Update practice, project, and lead databases in Notion
• Support project management, marketing, and business development tasks as needed

Financial Management

• Manage monthly/yearly invoicing schedules
• Track and process payments and purchase invoices
• Run monthly payroll
• Assist with cashflow forecasts and financial tools
• Monitor project costs and team resourcing

Skills and Competencies

Experience

• Minimum 2 years in a similar role within the built environment
• Experience at an architecture or interior design firm is a plus

Software Proficiency

• Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), Canva, and Wix
• Experience with website CMS and SEO preferred
• Familiarity with Notion or other project management tools
• Comfortable with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn)
