Job Summary:
We're seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Store Manager to lead our Quick Commerce B2B Grocery Dark Store operations. The ideal candidate will have around 5 years of experience in managing similar dark store or retail environments, with a strong focus on on-demand delivery models. You will be responsible for the entire store's operational efficiency, from managing order fulfillment and inventory to overseeing last-mile delivery and handling customer escalations. A crucial aspect of this role is managing an off-roll workforce and optimizing store layout to enhance health metrics and productivity
Key Responsibilities:
o Oversee the entire order fulfillment process, ensuring orders are picked, packed, and dispatched accurately and within the stipulated time.
o Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for picking and packing to minimize errors and improve speed.
o Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) like pick time, pack time, and order accuracy, taking corrective action as needed.
o Lead and manage all inventory control activities, including stock receipt, put-away, cycle counts, and audits.
o Implement robust inventory management systems to track stock levels, prevent shrinkage, and ensure product availability.
o Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and collaborate with the procurement team to optimize stock levels.
o Manage and coordinate the last-mile delivery operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to B2B customers.
o Oversee the performance of the delivery fleet and off-roll delivery personnel.
o Utilize and optimize route planning software to improve delivery efficiency and reduce costs.
Store Operations & Health Metrics:
o Manage the day-to-day operations of the dark store, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
o Design and optimize the store layout and shelving to improve picking efficiency and reduce physical strain on the workforce, thereby enhancing health metrics.
o Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and food handling standards.
o Conduct regular audits to maintain high standards of hygiene and operational excellence.
o Lead and manage a team of off-roll (contractual) staff, including pickers, packers, and delivery personnel.
o Conduct training and performance reviews for the team, fostering a high-performance culture.
o Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and adherence to company policies.
o Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving customer escalations, including issues related to late deliveries, incorrect orders, or damaged goods.
o Investigate and resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.- Around 5 years of proven experience in managing operations for a quick commerce, dark store, or a high-volume retail/FMCG distribution center.
- Demonstrated experience in managing off-roll (contractual) manpower.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles, particularly in a high-turnover environment.
- Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and route planning software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer escalations calmly and professionally.
- Deep understanding of store design and its impact on operational efficiency and employee health metrics (e.g., reducing walk-time, minimizing lifting, ergonomic layout).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
