Store In-Charge / Store Officer Chemical, Pharma & Engineering Industry

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

• Maintain stock records of raw materials, consumables, chemicals, spares, and finished goods.
• Conduct stock audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
• Ensure timely material availability through coordination with procurement.
• Follow FIFO/FEFO practices and track batch numbers, expiry, and yield.
  

Warehouse Operations

• Oversee receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of materials.
• Supervise safe loading/unloading and material handling activities.
• Ensure warehouse storage as per

  safety & quality guidelines

  (chemical segregation, GMP for pharma).

Safety & Compliance

• Maintain

  Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

  and ensure staff awareness.
• Ensure compliance with

  EHS, statutory regulations, and audit requirements

  .
• Conduct safety training & implement best practices in material handling.
  

Team Coordination

• Manage/assist store staff and allocate tasks for smooth operations.
• Coordinate with

  production, purchase, QC, and dispatch

  teams.
• Train staff on inventory handling & ERP systems.
  

Documentation & Process Improvement

• Maintain accurate stock ledgers, GRNs, and issue records.
• Update ERP/Store systems (SAP/Tally/Oracle) regularly.
• Optimize warehouse layout, material flow, and storage efficiency.
  

Required Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of

  inventory management, warehouse operations & chemical/pharma storage protocols

  .
• Familiarity with

  ERP systems (SAP, Tally, Oracle)

  .
• Strong

  planning, documentation, and record-keeping skills

  .
• Leadership (for Store In-Charge) and coordination skills.
• Safety knowledge (hazardous chemicals, GMP environment).
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate in

  Science, Chemistry, Commerce, or Logistics

  .
• Diploma in

  Materials / Logistics Management

  preferred.

• Store In-Charge:

  37 years of experience in chemical/pharma/process industries.

• Store Officer:

  25 years of experience in pharma/engineering industries.
• Safety/warehouse certifications (NEBOSH, OSHA) desirable.
  

Work Conditions

• On-site role at

  manufacturing plant/warehouse

  .
• Exposure to raw material & finished goods storage areas.
• Mandatory PPE usage for chemical sites.
• Day shift role (may require shift flexibility in chemical plants).
