Job Overview

The Inventory Champion is responsible for overseeing and optimizing inventory processes, ensuring accurate stock management, and improving inventory control mechanisms in the ERP system. This role ensures accountability for all inventory transactions, from Bill of Materials to procurement, goods receipt, consumption in production, and dispatch. The Inventory Champion will work closely with production, procurement, quality control, and accounts teams to enhance inventory visibility, streamline material flow, and maintain accurate stock records in the accounting books.

Key Responsibilities Area & Duties

  1. Implement accurate tracking mechanisms for RM, WIP, and FG in ERP.
  2. Ensure real-time and correct entries for all inventory transactions.
  3. Coordinate with production, procurement, stores, and QC teams for seamless material flow.
  4. Facilitate smooth material requisition and issuance through ERP.
  5. Reconcile physical stock with system records and correct discrepancies.
  6. Define and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory management.
  7. Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the inventory process and propose improvements.
  8. Conduct periodic stock audits and cycle counts to validate ERP data.
  9. Generate inventory reports and provide insights to management.
  10. Ensure proper handling of excess materials with color-coded tracking in ERP.
  11. Support the Accounts team in maintaining accurate FG inventory for invoicing.

Qualifications & Skills Required

Education required

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical field).

Knowledge required

  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems
  • Knowledge of material flow and stock reconciliation processes.
  • Awareness of lean inventory practices and 5S principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret stock reports and inventory data.
  • Understanding of compliance regulations and inventory best practices.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Experience required

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in

    inventory management

    , preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience in ERP inventory management and process optimization.
