The Role

Stockist / Inventory Manager


Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Material Management (Core Focus)

  • Comprehensive Stock Control:

    Maintain precise and accurate stock levels of

    all production materials

    , including fabric inventory, embroidery threads, trims, and ancillary materials.
  • Material Sourcing & Quality:

    Oversee fabric sourcing, trim selection, and material coordination, ensuring all inputs meet strict quality and brand standards.
  • Inventory Analysis:

    Analyze existing stock levels and production requirements to forecast material needs and prevent shortages.


Production Coordination & Oversight Production Coordination

  • Artisan Workflow Management:

    Manage and coordinate the flow of work and materials for specialized artisans, including

    embroiders (karigars), tailors, and stitching masters

    , ensuring timely execution.
  • Quality Control:

    Work closely with the production team to monitor the quality of garments throughout the manufacturing process, from raw material inspection to final product sign-off.
  • Production Scheduling:

    Assist the Merchandising team in planning production schedules based on inventory data and forecast demand.

Administration & Vendor Relations

  • Vendor Coordination:

    Maintain communication and coordinate logistics with vendors and suppliers related to material delivery and production schedules.
  • Documentation:

    Maintain meticulous records of all incoming and outgoing inventory, material consumption, and production progress.
  • Financial Support:

    Assist the Merchandising team with data inputs related to cost analysis and product budgeting.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience:

    4-5 years of experience

    in inventory management, production coordination, or a related role within the fashion industry, with significant exposure to

    Indian ethnic wear

    .
  • Technical Knowledge:

    A strong understanding of fabrics, garment components, and ethnic wear production processes.
  • Coordination Skills:

    Proven ability to effectively manage and communicate with artisans (karigars, tailors).
  • Analytical Skills:

    Strong numerical and analytical skills, especially for managing stock databases and forecasting.
  • Software Proficiency:

    Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Communication:

    Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
