The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the ethnic wear market, possessing an expert eye for fabric quality, intricate handwork, and precise costing. This role is perfect for a meticulous professional who can drive the entire merchandising lifecycle, from sourcing and purchase to production and vendor management, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Sourcing & Procurement: Identify, evaluate, and manage a network of reliable vendors for sourcing fabrics, materials, and finished goods, ensuring competitive pricing and timely delivery. Costing & Budgeting: Develop and maintain detailed costing sheets for all products, ensuring profitability while maintaining quality standards. Manage the purchasing budget effectively to meet business goals. Fabric & Handwork Expertise: Possess an in-depth knowledge of various ethnic fabrics, their qualities, and market rates. Have a keen understanding of traditional handwork, embroidery, and embellishment techniques to ensure authenticity and quality. Purchase Management: Oversee the entire purchase process, from placing orders with vendors to tracking production and ensuring all quality control measures are met before final dispatch. Product Lifecycle Management: Collaborate with design, production, and marketing teams to oversee the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept to final delivery, ensuring the collection is cohesive and market-ready. Trend Forecasting: Stay updated on the latest trends in ethnic wear, consumer demands, and market competition to provide valuable insights for new collection development. Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with all vendors and suppliers to ensure smooth operations and high-quality outcomes. ? Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in merchandising, with a specific focus on Indian ethnic wear. Expertise: Proven expertise in fabric quality, handwork, costing, and the ethnic wear supply chain. Negotiation & Communication: Strong negotiation skills for vendor management and excellent communication skills for seamless team collaboration. Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, especially in quality control and data management.
