About Aasraa Trust

Aasraa Trust was established in 2009 to work with society’s most underprivileged and vulnerable children from the streets and slums of Dehradun. Aasraa is not just a charity but a vehicle for empowerment through education, skills training, and nutrition, healthcare and shelter homes. Starting with street level mobilization, Aasraa uses a multi-faced approach that prepares children for mainstream education and transition to higher studies and skills training.

Aasraa is certified by National Institute of Open Schooling and works with the education department of Uttarakhand to improve the quality of education at 9-government school in Dehradun. Aasraa is also implementing a Girl Education Program in four girls Inter Collages in Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. Aasraa has built shelters for orphaned, abandoned, abused and special needs children. Aasraa started 15 years ago with 35 children and it now supports over 11000 children from the streets and slums across 80 projects in Dehradun district.

Job Description

ROLE PROFILE: STEM TRAINER (Female Candidates Preferred)

Purpose of the Job – The STEM Trainer role aims to inspire and educate students in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through dynamic workshops and training sessions. By fostering a love for STEM subjects and encouraging hands-on exploration, the trainer aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in STEM.

Objective of the role

Foster curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to empower students in STEM education and career pursuits.

Location of the Role :Udham Singh Nagar.

Roles:

1. Curriculum Development: Design and develop dynamic STEM curricula that align with educational standards, incorporate hands-on activities, and promote interdisciplinary learning across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

2. Conduct STEM Classes:

· Teach STEM and Tinkering concepts to students.

· Engage students with hands-on learning experiences.

3. Curriculum Implementation:

· Follow the STEM curriculum provided and conduct the classes using STEM Lab equipment’s

· Design and conduct new experiments in the classroom.

4. Classroom Innovation:

· Find and introduce new and interesting experiments for students.

5. Administrative Duties:

· Fill out all MIS and monitoring tools of the organization.

· Submit weekly reports to the Program Manager.

6. Student Preparation:

· Prepare students for tinkering experiments.

· Prepare students for the annual science fest.

7. Lab Management:

· Maintain proper stock of lab equipment.

8. Robotics and Electronics:

· Work with robotics and electronics equipment.

· Teach students about robotics and electronics.

9. Collaboration with Teachers:

· Liaise with government teachers.

· Motivate teachers to use STEM modules in

Additional Tasks:-

1. Pedagogical Support: Provide ongoing guidance, mentoring, and support to teachers in implementing inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, and other innovative teaching methodologies in STEM classrooms.

2. Assessment and Evaluation: Design assessment tools, rubrics, and evaluation criteria to measure student learning outcomes and teacher effectiveness in delivering STEM education.

3. Instructional Delivery: Deliver engaging and interactive lessons, labs, and projects that stimulate curiosity, encourage inquiry-based learning, and promote student engagement in STEM concepts and practices.

4. Capacity Building: Build the capacity of educational institutions, teacher training institutes, and educational administrators to promote excellence in STEM education through workshops, conferences, and networking events.

Note: Additional smaller coordination-related tasks may arise based on the Trust’srequirements.

Education and Experience requirements

Education Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM-related field (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, etc.); Master’s degree or teaching certification preferred.

Core experience

· Experience in teaching, curriculum development, or teacher training, preferably in the context of NCERT-affiliated schools or educational institutions

· Handled projects at the college level.

Preferable Knowledge/Experience

· In-depth knowledge of NCERT curriculum frameworks, educational policies, and pedagogical approaches relevant to STEM subjects.

· Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences of teachers, educators, and administrators.

Competencies Required

· Technical competencies: Proficiency in educational technology tools, learning management systems, and digital resources for STEM education.

· Behavioral competencies: Commitment to promoting inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive STEM education practices in line with NCERT's mission and values

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹40,000.00 per month
