Job Description

Job Title: State Head Insurance (General, Life & Health)

Location: Chennai - Tamil Nadu

Role Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall

    State Business Responsibility

    for General Insurance, Life Insurance, and Health Insurance.
  • Build, train, and develop high-performing teams across the state with continuous

    training and handholding

    .
  • Oversee and drive the performance of

    multiple locations as profit centers

    within the assigned state.
  • Develop and execute

    state-level strategies and action plans

    to drive business growth, increase market share, and achieve revenue targets.
  • Lead and manage

    end-to-end operations

    across locations, ensuring alignment with company objectives and compliance standards.
  • Monitor and analyze

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    including:
    • Sales and revenue targets
    • Partner / Dealer / Agent acquisition and retention
    • Claims management and turnaround time
    • Operational efficiency and productivity
  • Work closely with

    cross-functional teams

    such as Marketing, Underwriting, Product Development, and Customer Service to execute integrated business initiatives.
  • Conduct regular

    performance reviews

    of Branch Managers / Area Managers and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Drive

    channel expansion

    through dealers, agents, corporate clients, and other channel partners.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with

    key stakeholders

    , ensuring long-term business partnerships.
  • Ensure adherence to

    regulatory and compliance guidelines

    as per IRDA and company policies.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Graduate / Post Graduate.
  • 8–15 years

    of experience in the insurance industry, with

    minimum 3–5 years in a leadership role

    (State Head / Regional Head / Zonal Head).
  • Strong exposure to

    General Insurance, Life Insurance, and Health Insurance

    .
  • Proven track record in

    sales growth, team management, and multi-location operations

    .
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation abilities.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the state.
