Staff Software Engineer (L4)

.In this role, you will be a key contributor to building and scaling high-performance backend systems for a large-scale data platform. You will design, develop, and optimize services that process vast volumes of customer data, enabling efficient orchestration and activation across multiple pipelines and APIs. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused solutions while ensuring system reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. You will influence technical decisions, drive best practices, and mentor peers, all within a fast-paced, evolving environment. This is a remote role that offers exposure to distributed architectures, cloud infrastructure, and high-scale SaaS solutions.
Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services powering high-scale data platforms
- Build and optimize APIs, data pipelines, and event-driven architectures to support customer data orchestration
- Ensure reliability, scalability, and efficiency of backend systems through monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with product, design, and infrastructure teams to deliver technically sound, customer-focused solutions
- Drive engineering best practices including code reviews, testing, and CI/CD deployment processes
- Contribute to architecture discussions and roadmap planning aligned with strategic initiatives
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building production-grade backend services in languages such as Golang, Python, Java, Scala, or similar
- Strong experience with fault-tolerant distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and database design
- Proficiency in AWS cloud infrastructure and high-scale, low-latency API design
- Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking concepts, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for complex distributed applications
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in fast-paced environments
- Familiarity with event streaming technologies (Kafka, Pulsar), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), multi-tenant SaaS platforms, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) is desirable
- Comfortable working in remote, geographically distributed teams and handling ambiguous, evolving challenges
