Role
There is an opportunity for an
“experienced and knowledgeable”
applicant to join the Private Equity team in India. The prime responsibility is to deal with business support, system upgrades and development, small change and major capital projects. This role involves development and support of the Investran and all its ancillary applications used within Private Equity business unit.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES
- Must have strong subject matter expertise along with thorough understanding of Investran application
- Provide 1st level Production Support for Investran and its ancillary applications, by providing timely resolution for functional and technical queries raised by Private Equity business
- Interact and liaise with technology team and external vendors to resolve functional & technical queries
- Analyse operational procedures and processes, working with the Private Equity operations team to identify areas for automation, to reduce risk and improve efficiency
- Collaborates, elicit, analyse, outline and develop requirements for dockets and small changes, coordinating with business and technology teams.
- Formulate application testing strategies and test plans, execute test cases (manual or automated) and review results for SunGard Investran and all its ancillary applications, report and troubleshoot defects
- Employ project management tools and techniques when working on docket or project initiatives
- Develop as a functional Subject Matter Expert for PE operations and the Investran platform, documenting and developing a knowledge base, and cross-training team members.
- Provide support for new business take-on as well as growth within the existing client base
- Work closely with regional functional managers in various processes / projects to ensure communication and smooth implementation
- Serve as a Change Advocate; establish trust within the corresponding business teams; gain enthusiasm within the teams.
- Support and drive system changes and strategic initiatives - Elicit, analyse, outline and develop requirements by coordinating with business and technology teams.
- Formulate application testing strategies and test plans, execute test cases (manual or automated) and troubleshoot defects.
- Analyse operational procedures and processes, working with the PCA business to identify areas for automation, to reduce risk and improve efficiency.
- Contributing to process development and productivity, implementing new initiatives; Identify efficiencies and area’s for improvement to reduce risk and become more efficient.
- Assist managers in team/business development, client specific reporting / analysis request and special projects.
Knowledge And Skills
Industry, accounting, application and process knowledge:
- Thorough understanding of complex nature of private equity offerings
- Ability to identify, classify and record complex fund transactions to general ledgers.
- Knowledge of Investran LIVE/ Investran, preferably as a super user to be able to use the application to its max advantage
- Working knowledge of macro/automation tools will be added advantage.
- Proven experience of business analysis, system upgrades, testing related to Private Equity products.
- Self-starter with advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to liaise and translate between technical and non-technical departments.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Skills
- A good understanding of the FIS Investran platform, overall experience of 9-12 years and minimum 6 years of experience related to L1 support, Implementations and change management
- Implementations and change management

- Strong IT and systems skills required and an ability to liaise and translate between technical and non-technical departments.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to prioritize tasks

- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, or a strong operational background in private equity
Education And Qualifications
- Master / Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/tech.
- 6 - 8 years of work experience into Investran application/ Private Equity / Fund Accounting
Eligibility for Internal partners
- 3 years as a Team Leader to move as a Section Manager currently at an Officer level.
- 24 months as a consultant to move as a Senior Consultant. Movement within Senior Consultant and Section Manager is applicable if they have prior 36 months of people management experience.
