Senior Server Engineer (4–6 Years Experience)About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Server Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing server infrastructure across Windows and Linux platforms. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capability to lead projects that ensure high availability, performance, and security of systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers in on-premises and cloud environments.
• Manage server hardware, operating systems, and server-based applications.
• Administer and optimize virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Support hybrid and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Monitor system health, optimize performance, and proactively resolve issues.
• Lead root cause analysis for server and infrastructure-related problems.
• Implement and manage backup strategies, storage solutions, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Ensure business continuity and data protection.
• Conduct regular security audits, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Implement security best practices aligned with industry standards (ISO, NIST, etc.).
• Collaborate with the network team to manage and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Configure DNS, DHCP, load balancing, and firewall rules related to server operations.
• Develop scripts (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) to automate server tasks and optimize processes.
• Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations, changes, and procedures.
• Provide L3 support to resolve escalated server-related issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in server administration and infrastructure management.
• Strong expertise in Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022) and/or Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Proven experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
• Solid knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
• Experience with backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, or similar).
• Strong scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
• Familiarity with system monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or similar).
• Good understanding of IT security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Exposure to containerization & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
• Relevant certifications such as:
• - Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Solutions Expert
• - VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• - Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
• - AWS Solutions Architect / SysOps Administrator

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
