Senior QA Engineer (Manual)

You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, usability, and performance of our applications by implementing robust testing strategies, identifying defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless user experience.

- Test Planning & Strategy
- Analyze product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to create comprehensive test plans and test scenarios.
- Define test objectives, scope, environment needs, and timelines for manual QA activities.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to understand functional and non-functional requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and best practices.
- Conduct thorough manual testing across web, mobile, and backend systems to validate functionality, usability, and regression behavior.
- Perform exploratory testing to uncover hidden issues and edge cases.
- Execute smoke, functional, regression, sanity, and integration test cycles as part of release validation.
- Document test results clearly and systematically using the chosen test management tools.
- Design and execute API test cases using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or equivalent.
- Validate request-response structures, authentication methods, status codes, functional flows, and error handling.
- Ensure strong coverage for backend APIs including boundary, negative, and performance-related checks.
- Work closely with backend developers to address API failures and verify API-level fixes.
- Log detailed and reproducible bugs in issue-tracking systems (Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar).
- Work collaboratively with developers to debug, prioritize, and resolve defects.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and quality reviews to ensure effective defect prevention strategies.
- Provide clear QA sign-offs for builds and releases, ensuring they meet quality benchmarks.
- Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, participating actively in sprint planning, stand-ups, grooming, and retrospectives.
- Assist junior QA members with guidance, knowledge sharing, and best practices.
- Maintain clear communication with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of quality metrics.
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience in Manual Testing and API Testing.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and defect life cycle.
- Solid experience with API testing tools (Postman, Swagger, RestClient) and knowledge of JSON/XML.
- Proficiency in writing effective test cases, test scenarios, and test reports.
- Experience working in Agile environments with sprint-based delivery.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
- Exposure to automation testing concepts.
- Basic understanding of SQL for data validation.
- Experience with performance testing tools is a plus.
