Sr. Automation Engineer - Cybersecurity

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will design, develop, implement, and maintain automated systems and processes that improve efficiency, quality, and safety in manufacturing or industrial environments. You will also integrate cybersecurity best practices within automation and control systems to ensure the security and resilience of critical operations. You will collaborate with engineers, technical personnel, and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure smooth and secure functioning of automated systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Expertise

• Design, develop, and implement automated systems to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality in manufacturing or industrial processes.
• Program, test, and debug automated systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align automated solutions with business requirements.
• Identify and propose improvements to existing automated systems and processes.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of automated systems.
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.

2. Documentation and Reporting

• Prepare and maintain technical specifications, operating procedures, and maintenance manuals for automated systems.
• Document risk assessments, security architecture designs, and standard operating procedures.
• Provide timely and accurate reporting on project progress, risks, and recommendations.
• Contribute to knowledge base articles and technical documentation for internal and external use.

3. Team Building and Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performing technical team by hiring, training, and mentoring top talent.
• Provide clear guidance, set project targets, and monitor team performance.
• Foster a collaborative, motivating work environment encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

4. Technical Strategy and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with management to define technical strategy for OT cybersecurity consulting and managed services.
• Stay updated on trends, emerging technologies, and industry standards in automation and OT cybersecurity.
• Contribute to development of customized solutions and proposals for clients.
• Provide technical guidance and support during client engagements and solution presentations.

Qualifications / Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:

• 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems.
• Familiarity with industrial control systems and automation technologies (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA).
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including sensors, motors, and actuators.
• Ability to troubleshoot automation systems efficiently.
• Exposure to cybersecurity principles, ICS/OT security tools, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with robotics, AI, and machine learning is a plus.
• Proficiency in maintaining automation equipment.

Programming Skills:

• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or Java.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Strong project management and organizational skills; able to work independently or as part of a team.

Tools and Systems:

• Deep understanding of OT systems, networks, protocols, and security controls.

Certifications / Trainings (At least one preferred):

• Certified Automation Professional (CAP)
• Certified Control System Technician (CCST)
• Certified Manufacturing Automation Professional (CMfgE)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹3,000,000.00 - ₹4,500,000.00 per year
