Sr. Associate / Counsel

As a highly qualified Senior Associate or Counsel in the Employment Law practice of a leading full-service law firm in India, you will play a crucial role in providing expert advice on Indian labour and employment laws to both domestic and multinational clients. Your responsibilities will include: - Advising clients on various employment and labour law issues such as employment contracts, HR policies, compensation structures, termination matters, industrial disputes, disciplinary proceedings, employee misconduct, POSH compliance, internal investigations, labour law audits, due diligence for M&A transactions, workforce structuring, transfers, and retrenchment strategy. - Representing clients before labor authorities, tribunals, and other forums as needed. - Drafting and negotiating employment-related documentation and settlement agreements. - Staying updated on developments in Indian employment law and contributing to knowledge management initiatives. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams including litigation, corporate, and compliance teams. - Supervising and mentoring junior associates in the practice. Qualifications required for this role include: - LL.B. from a reputed Indian law school. - 7-12 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a top-tier law firm or leading in-house legal department. - Strong understanding of Indian labour laws, industrial regulations, and case law developments. - Excellent legal drafting, research, and analytical skills. - Experience in handling sensitive investigations and employment litigation is preferred. - Business-oriented mindset with exceptional client-handling skills. - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments independently and meet deadlines. - Team player with a collaborative working style.
