Lab Solution Architect

Summary

The Lab Solution Architect designs comprehensive solutions across the Cerner Millennium Lab suite (GL,BB, Micro, AP), with expertise in PathNet, LIMS integration (Spectra, Lab Data Repository), and reference lab interfacing, aligning with Adventist Health’s quality, regulatory, and operational targets.

Core Responsibilities

Lead design for specimen tracking, order/results management, and bi-directional interfaces (PathNet, Spectra, reference labs).
Define enterprise standards for domain rule management (CCL, DA2) supporting quality control alerts and compliance.
Architect data models and mapping guides for Lab Data Repository integrations and middleware (Mirth, Cloverleaf).
Oversee custom rule development for lab decision support (e.g., critical value alerts) and advanced reporting.
Collaborate with offshore teams to translate architecture into detailed low-level designs and interface specifications.
Conduct impact analyses for version upgrades, performance tuning, and data retention policies.
Serve as primary escalation point for lab system issues, driving root-cause analysis and remediation efforts.

Technical Skills & Certifications:

Expert knowledge of Cerner Millennium PathNet administration.
Preferred: Lab Informatics certification

Experience:

8–10 years architecting Cerner Lab solutions, including PathNet and reference lab interfaces.
Proven record of delivering high-availability lab informatics in multi-facility settings.

Soft Skills:

Excellent stakeholder management with pathologists and lab leadership.
Strategic mindset with clear communication skills.
Leadership presence to drive technical consensus.
