Job Description

Role Overview:

Responsible for managing the pre-sales function covering system design, estimation, costing, and proposal preparation for rooftop and ground-mount solar projects. Acts as the technical interface between the sales, design, and execution teams to ensure accurate and competitive proposals aligned with client and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Design & Feasibility

  • Conduct site assessments and evaluate client energy data to determine optimal solar system size and configuration.
  • Prepare preliminary layouts using AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar tools.
  • Estimate generation, performance ratio, and system efficiency for proposals.
  • Review structural and electrical feasibility for both rooftop and ground-mount systems.

2. Costing & Pricing

  • Prepare detailed BOQ and cost sheets for modules, inverters, structures, cables, BOS, and installation.
  • Coordinate with the purchase team for vendor quotations and updated material costs.
  • Develop competitive pricing models ensuring target margins.
  • Support management in tender pricing and techno-commercial bid preparation.

3. Proposal & Documentation

  • Draft and review technical and commercial proposals, tenders, and client presentations.
  • Prepare pre-bid queries, compliance statements, and clarifications.
  • Ensure proposal documents are complete, accurate, and aligned with client specifications.
  • Work closely with CRM and Sales teams to maintain proposal status in Zoho CRM or ERP systems.

4. Coordination & Support

  • Liaise with project, design, and procurement teams for data validation.
  • Attend client meetings to explain technical scope, design rationale, and pricing logic.
  • Support Sales in negotiations by providing clear technical and cost insights.

5. Reporting & Review

  • Maintain MIS of proposals submitted, conversion ratio, and pricing trends.
  • Track competitor pricing, new technology updates, and cost benchmarks.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems (Rooftop & Ground-mount).
  • Expertise in AutoCAD, PVsyst, MS Excel, and proposal drafting.
  • Analytical approach to cost estimation and bid evaluation.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple proposals and meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • B.E / B.Tech – Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering.
  • MBA (Marketing / Operations) preferred.
  • 5–8 years of experience in pre-sales / design / proposal within the Solar EPC industry.
