Job Description

The Solar Project Engineer will be responsible for the design, planning, execution, and monitoring of solar power projects from concept to commissioning. The role involves technical evaluation, site assessment, coordination with stakeholders, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and resource assessments for solar projects.
  • Design and optimize solar PV systems (including module layouts, electrical design, and system sizing).
  • Prepare technical drawings, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for procurement and execution.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  • Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of solar systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during project execution.
  • Support in preparing proposals, technical reports, and client presentations.
  • Stay updated with industry standards, renewable energy policies, and emerging solar technologies.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in solar PV project design and execution (EPC experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of solar PV components, inverters, structures, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, etc.).
  • Good understanding of grid integration, safety codes, and relevant regulations.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites.

Preferred Certifications

  • NABCEP, Solar PV design/installation certification, or equivalent.
  • PMP or project management certification (added advantage).
