Job Description

Solar O&M Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor plant performance through SCADA systems and analyze generation data.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of modules, inverters, and cables.
Diagnose faults and ensure timely corrective actions to minimize losses.
Carry out thermography inspections to detect hotspots and potential failures.
Supervise cleaning, vegetation control, and safety inspections at the site.
Maintain detailed reports on generation, downtime, and efficiency losses.
Coordinate with equipment vendors for warranty claims and replacements.
Ensure compliance with grid regulations and safety standards.
Provide performance improvement suggestions based on data trends.

Skills Required:

Proficiency in SCADA monitoring and data analytics tools.
Knowledge of electrical testing (IV curve tracing, insulation resistance, earthing).
Troubleshooting skills for string-level and inverter-level faults.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Understanding of LV/MV switchgear, safety norms, and protection systems.

Qualifications and Experience:

Diploma or B.Tech in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
2–5 years of experience in solar O&M or plant maintenance.
Hands-on knowledge of field operations, preferably in utility-scale solar plants.
