Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Software Tester with 3 years of experience in both manual and automation testing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications through rigorous testing practices, including writing test cases, performing manual tests, and automating test scripts for continuous integration.
Key Responsibilities
Manual Testing:
- Analyze and understand business requirements and design test cases based on those requirements.
- Execute test cases (functional, regression, integration) and document results.
- Perform thorough testing on web and mobile applications.
- Identify and log defects, work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
- Perform compatibility testing across different browsers and platforms.
- Prepare and maintain test data for testing scenarios.
- Review and validate application behavior based on user stories, wireframes, and mockups.
Automation Testing
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated tests are integrated effectively.
- Utilize automation tools like Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or similar tools for test automation.
- Implement and manage automation frameworks for regression testing.
- Assist in automating repetitive testing tasks and provide reusable test scripts.
- Conduct performance and load testing using automation tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, etc.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and QA teams to ensure test coverage is comprehensive.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Prepare and communicate detailed test reports with results, logs, and issues.
- Track and report test progress, defects, and other relevant metrics.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in both manual and automated software testing.
- Manual Testing: Proficient in creating and executing test cases, identifying defects, and performing functional and non-functional testing.
- Automation Tools: Experience with tools like Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or similar for test automation.
- Programming Languages: Familiarity with Java, Python, or JavaScript for writing automation scripts.
- Bug Tracking Tools: Hands-on experience with tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar.
- Test Management Tools: Experience with tools like TestRail, Quality Center, or others for managing test cases.
- Version Control: Basic knowledge of version control systems like Git or SVN.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Understanding of CI/CD concepts and how automated testing integrates into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Good Communication Skills: Ability to clearly document test results and defects. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of SDLC: Understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Basic SQL: Ability to write basic SQL queries for data validation and backend testing.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with performance testing using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or RestAssured.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and how they relate to testing.
- Familiarity with testing mobile applications using automation tools like Appium.
