Software Test Analyst

This role requires a functional tester's mindset—ensuring that every release meets rigorous business requirements, performs optimally, and delivers an intuitive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities: 🧪

  • Testing Execution:

    Perform end-to-end functional testing of critical e-commerce modules: browsing, shopping cart, checkout, payments, and order tracking.
  • Release Validation:

    Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders prior to major releases to ensure fitness for use.
  • Defect Management:

    Identify, clearly log, track, and collaborate with the development team for defect resolution, and participate in subsequent defect verification.
  • Integration Testing:

    Validate integrations with external systems crucial to e-commerce operations, such as ERP, CRM, Payment Gateways, and Logistics tools.
  • Test Documentation:

    Create and maintain detailed test cases, comprehensive test scenarios, and regression suites to ensure consistent quality.
  • Release Support:

    Participate actively in release validation, smoke testing, and final Go/No-Go readiness reviews.

Business & Functional Analysis: 📊

  • Requirements Mapping:

    Understand and map complex business requirements into detailed, functional test cases and use cases.
  • Collaboration:

    Collaborate closely with business teams to gather requirements and contribute to writing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specification Documents (FSDs).
  • User Journey:

    Ensure complete functional coverage across various customer user journeys and personas.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 🤝

  • Agile Participation:

    Participate in sprint planning, product demos, and retrospectives to ensure QA readiness and alignment with development goals.
  • Process Improvement:

    Provide valuable inputs for process improvement and quality optimization efforts across the SDLC.

Reporting & Documentation: 📝

  • Reporting:

    Prepare detailed test summary reports, track and analyze defect metrics, and communicate results clearly to stakeholders.
  • Traceability:

    Maintain updated traceability matrices, linking defined business requirements directly to test cases and execution results.
  • Readiness:

    Support release readiness reviews by providing comprehensive, evidence-based validation.

Required Skills & Qualifications: ✅

  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Experience:

    2-4 years

    of dedicated functional testing or Quality Assurance (QA) experience specifically within

    e-commerce platforms

    .
  • Platform Knowledge:

    Hands-on understanding of major e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, WooCommerce, Magento, or experience with custom-built systems.
  • Technical Skills:

    Strong foundational knowledge of

    API testing

    , and complex integration workflows.
  • Documentation:

    Proven ability to write and manage detailed test cases, BRDs, and UAT documentation.
  • Mindset:
