Software Engineer II

Join the Manufacturing Squad within Microsoft Cloud for Industry (MCI), where we are building intelligent, scalable, and secure cloud solutions that transform how industrial customers manage operations, engineering change, and supply chain resilience.As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work alongside a global team of engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered agents and cloud-native services that redefine productivity in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design & Deliver Scalable Solutions Architect and implement cloud-native services across Azure, Dynamics, and Power Platform to support manufacturing use cases like Engineering Change Management (ECM), inventory optimization, and predictive maintenance .
• Collaborate Across Boundaries Work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to co-develop intelligent agents embedded in partner platforms.
• Drive Engineering Excellence Write clean, maintainable code and lead design reviews. Champion best practices in performance, reliability, and security.
• Lead with Impact Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions that shape the future of Microsoft’s industry Agentic offerings.
• Champion Responsible AI Ensure AI agents are grounded, transparent, and aligned with Microsoft’s ethical AI principles. Collaborate with data scientists and PMs to refine prompts and outputs .
  

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Proficiency in C#, Java, or Python.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Strong understanding of microservices, APIs, and DevOps practices.
  

Preferred:

• Experience with AI/ML or LLM-based solutions.
• Familiarity with manufacturing systems (e.g., PLM, ERP, MES).
• Experience working with cross-industry or embedded agent architectures.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across time zones.
