Software Engineer - Backend

Peergrowth is hiring a Software Engineer - Backend on behalf of one of our clients in the technology space. The successful candidate will work as part of the client’s technology team to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend solutions that improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and systems based on product requirements and wireframes.
• Build logical and physical data models to support application functionality.
• Debug, identify, and resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and performance issues.
• Conduct unit testing to ensure reliability, usability, and edge-case handling.
• Write reusable, maintainable code following best practices and DRY principles.
• Integrate internal tools and third-party business systems (e.g., ticketing, communications).
• Collaborate with product managers and other developers to refine requirements and shape system architecture.

Requirements

• Experience:

  1–3 years of backend development with solid problem-solving skills, data structures, and algorithms.

• Programming:

  Proficient in Core Java with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP).

• Databases:

  Hands-on experience with SQL, MySQL, or similar database management systems.

• Web Services:

  Experience integrating SOAP, REST, JSON, and XML services.

• API Knowledge:

  Familiarity with RESTful APIs for connecting Android applications to backend services.

• Version Control:

  Experience with Git (preferred).
• Bonus: Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Spring or Hibernate.
