Introduction We are seeking a skilled Cloud Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team, focused on optimizing and scaling our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement automation solutions to streamline cloud account provisioning, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and security across platforms like IBM Cloud, AWS, or Azure. Responsibilities include creating Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or Ansible and automating deployment processes to support rapid, error-free releases. You will collaborate with Platform Engineering, Development, support, and security teams to integrate automation workflows, monitor system performance, and proactively resolve incidents, all while maintaining compliance with IBM standards. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cloud computing, scripting, virtualization and OpenShift. You should possess hands-on experience with automation frameworks, an understanding of cloud-native architectures, and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems. 5+ years of relevant experience is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. Your Role And Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain automated infrastructure solutions for IBM’s cloud and hybrid platforms. Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and Ansible Create and enhance CI/CD pipelines to streamline development, testing, and deployment processes. Monitor system performance, automate reporting, and proactively implement improvements. Collaborate with Data engineering, Gen AI, DevOps, and SRE teams to ensure platform reliability and availability. Implement security best practices and compliance automation across platforms. Contribute to knowledge-sharing and mentoring within the automation and platform engineering teams. You will be owning and represent in global product teams whenever required and adopt Agile methodologies. You will work with the senior technical leaders and manager in effectively managing the deliverables through your technical skills and prior experience. Preferred Education Bachelor's Degree Required Technical And Professional Expertise 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, DevOps, or a related field. Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash). Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Tekton). Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Chef. Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration. Solid understanding of networking, REST API, system architecture, and security practices. Understanding of enterprise microservices architectures and implementations. Excellent troubleshooting, follow-through, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Knowledge of hybrid-cloud software implementations, SaaS / IaaS / PaaS and cloud applications Communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills are also crucial. Preferred Technical And Professional Experience IBM Cloud certification or experience with IBM Cloud-native tools. Working knowledge on RedHat Openshift, Docker and Kubernetes. Experience in a large-scale operations or support environment. Experience with Linux Administration. DevOps Experience.
