Role Description

Shopify Developer

Shopify theme customisation

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, customise, and maintain 

  Shopify themes and apps

   using 

  Liquid

  , 

  JavaScript

  , and 

  Node.js

  .
• Build and manage 

  Shopify private and public apps

   using the 

  Shopify Admin API

  , 

  Storefront API

  , and 

  GraphQL API

  .
• Create and manage 

  serverless backend services

   (Node.js / Express) hosted on 

  AWS Lambda

  , 

  Azure Functions

  , or similar.
• Integrate Shopify with 

  third-party systems

   (OMS, WMS, CRM, ERP, Helpdesk, Marketing tools).
• Optimize website performance, SEO, and page speed across multiple devices and geographies.
• Implement 

  secure data handling

   and manage cloud-based assets, environment variables, and access controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams — Design, Marketing, and Operations — to deliver seamless eCommerce experiences.
• Monitor and debug live production systems using 

  cloud monitoring tools

   and 

  CI/CD pipelines

  .
• Maintain best practices for 

  version control

  , 

  deployment automation

  , and 

  code documentation

  .

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of experience as a 

  Shopify Developer

   or 

  Full-Stack JavaScript Developer

  .
• Strong proficiency in 

  Liquid

  , 

  HTML5

  , 

  CSS3

  , 

  JavaScript (ES6+)

  , and 

  Node.js

  .
• Hands-on experience with 

  Shopify APIs

   (REST, GraphQL) and webhooks.
• Cloud proficiency: 

  AWS / Azure / GCP

   — including serverless architecture, S3/Blob storage, IAM, and monitoring tools.
• Experience in 

  building scalable APIs

  , managing async tasks, and optimising API response times.
• Familiarity with 

  CI/CD pipelines

   (GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, or similar).
• Strong understanding of 

  Shopify Plus

   workflows, checkout extensibility, and metafields.
• Good grasp of 

  database systems

   (PostgreSQL / MongoDB / Firebase).
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to work in an agile, fast-paced environment.

Good to Have

• Experience with 

  React / Next.js

   for headless Shopify development.
• Exposure to 

  analytics and reporting dashboards

   using Node.js or cloud data tools.
• Understanding of 

  Shopify POS

  , 

  multi-channel integrations

  , and 

  automation tools

   (Zapier, Make, etc.).
• Knowledge of 

  Docker
