Job Description

We are considering this position as JB 10 Job Purpose Assist Superior in formulation of safety plan, safety procedures, guidelines and to coordinate and monitor implementation To assist superior in fulfillment of the obligation statutory and otherwise concerning prevention of personal injuries, loss of property and equipment in order to maintain safe working environment in plant, mines and captive power plant. Job Context & Major Challenges Job Context The Cement Business of Aditya Birla Group is one of the largest in the country. The Grey cement business has total 12 integrated Plants and 12 grinding units and 5 bulk terminals in 2014. One Brown field integrated plant, 4 grinding units and 1 Bulk terminal are under construction. Indian Cement industry is forecasted for growth from present 272 MTPA capacity to 550 MTPA by 2020. In order to maintain Market share, our Cement business will also grow from 58.8 MTPA to at least 100 MTPA in the same period. The capacity addition is planned through brown field /Green field Projects. This will entail an investment of Rs. 4500 Crs per annum and concurrent execution of multiple Projects. Therefore Project Cell was established in 2010. This Position is part of the Project Cell. Major Challenges To ensure zero accident in the plant, develop risk assessment and re medial measures. Key Result Areas KRA (Accountabilities) (Max 1325 Characters) Supporting Actions (Max 1325 Characters) KRA1 Accountability- Assist Superior in Safety Implementation- Ensure implementation of safe working practices in the plant to achieve zero accident goal. Ensure proper implementation of work permit system. Ensure proper safety activities at captive thermal plant. Regular safety inspection and safety survey of mines. Assist Superior in- Regular plant inspection and Monitor the implementation of safety norms Participation in dept. meeting and emphasis on use of PPE. Generate and review of reports and analysis of accidents Feedback to Departmental Heads on monitoring the implementation of the action points related to safety. KRA2 Assist Superior in Safety promotion and awareness- Conduct programs related to safety in order to motivate employees and improve safety in the unit. Assist Superior in- Display boards, Posters/slogans Administrate Safety pledge on safety day involving a ll employees Safety competition Essays, Slogans, Posters etc. for employees and for school children. Arrange & conduct safety awareness campaigns Safety awareness through online. KRA3 Assist Superior in Development of safety procedures- Investigation and analysis of accidents to develop improved safe working practices in the unit. Preparation of contractor safety manual and its thorough implementation. Ensure display of safe operating procedure/ instructions near equipments. Assist Superior in- Listing activities of operations in co-ordination with departmental people ( Job Safety Analysis) Identifying hazards and risk analysis Implement Counter-measures for hazards/risks Investigate and analyse causes of accidents and type of injuries Analyse thro' Causation model Preparation of safety budget. KRA4 Assist Superior in Statutory compliance- Coordinate for compliance of statutory requirements pertaining to safety rules and regulations with Factory Inspectorate Assist Superior in- Compliance and coordination with Factory inspectorate, Boiler Inspector and Controller of Explosive for inspection of plant, boiler, and storage of petroleum installation . Arrange / Co-ordinate for safety committee meetings Inspection of equipments as per safety norms, e.g., lifts, hoists, cranes, pressure vessels, stability etc. - Coordinate departmental accident reports and send to statutory authority- Conduct mock drills to check onsite emergency preparedness Get approval of drawings of projects and modifications cleared from Authorities Get approval of drawings for storage of petroleum product KRA5 Safety & Health related areas under OHSAS 18001 and IMS and WCM related areas - Conduct regular class room safety training Conduct on the job safety training specially for contract labour. Safety training for supplier and vendors. Training for prevention of fire and demonstration for fire fighting. KRA6 Standardisation, procurement and inspection of personal protective equipment. - Ensure a standard of personal protective equipment. Maintain minimum and maximum stock through store inventory. Inspection of Personal Protective Equipment as per Indian Standard or as per sample. Show more Show less
