You’ll own end-to-end SEO delivery for multiple clients (real estate, hospitality, retail/e-commerce, B2B SaaS) and help scale a fast-growing team. This role is great for senior SEO practitioners who like to both strategise and execute.
Role Overview
Own SEO strategy + execution for 4–5 clients: audits, technical fixes, on-page optimisation, content briefs & calendars, and link-building outreach — with the freedom to propose and implement improvements without client-facing responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Month 1–2 (initial setup):
- Conduct comprehensive website SEO audit and implement/track resolution items.
- Google Analytics and Search Console audit and remediation.
- Google Business Profile (Maps) audit and optimization (where applicable).
- Keyword research and content gap analysis; create 6-month content calendars.
- On-page optimisation for ~4–5 pages/month (meta, H tags, schema suggestions, content optimization). (month 2 + ongoing months)
- Deliver a clear setup report and prioritized action plan.
- Ongoing (month 3+):
- On-page optimisation for ~4–5 pages/month (meta, H tags, schema suggestions, content optimization).
- Produce detailed content briefs (3 content briefs/month) and collaborate with in-house writers.
- Content optimization for existing pages and recommend developer tasks.
- Link-building outreach: identify opportunities and secure ~3 quality citations/links per month.
- Monitor AEO signals and incorporate AI-enrichment practices into briefs and content (prompt monitoring, citations for answer engines).
- Track performance (traffic, rankings, organic leads) and report monthly.
- Work closely with Head of Technical Services and operations to ensure deliverables meet client SLAs.
Must-have (non-negotiable)
- 4+ years (ideally 4–8+) hands-on SEO experience with end-to-end execution across technical SEO, on-page, and link outreach.
- Proven experience managing multiple client accounts (ideally 3–6 clients) concurrently.
- Demonstrable track record of audits, GA/GSC setup and troubleshooting, and delivering on measurable SEO outcomes.
- Strong skills writing content briefs, page outlines, and on-page optimization instructions (not necessarily the main writer, but able to produce high-quality briefs).
- Practical link-building experience: outreach, relationship management, and securing placements.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal client contact; able to make strategic recommendations and own delivery.
- Familiarity with SEO/AEO tools (e.g., Ahrefs/SEMrush, Surfer/SEO testing tools, Google Analytics, Search Console — exact toolset can be adapted).
- Excellent written English and the ability to create clear briefs, reports and developer-ready tickets.
- Available to work UK-overlap hours (flexible start but overlap required).
Nice-to-have
- Direct experience with real estate, hospitality, retail/e-commerce, or B2B SaaS clients.
- Prior exposure to AEO/answer-engine optimization or AI-enriched content workflows.
- Experience using content-optimization tools (Surfer, MarketMuse, Clearscope) and outreach platforms.
- Experience in staff augmentation/white-label agency setups.
- Basic familiarity with CRO, paid media interplay and how SEO impacts cost-per-lead.
What Success Looks Like (first 3 Months)
- Complete audits and resolve high-priority tech and analytics issues for 2–3 clients.
- Deliver and get approval for 6-month content calendars for assigned clients.
- Successfully optimize 4–5 pages per client and provide 3 approved content briefs.
- Secure initial link/citation placements (target ~3 links/month).
Clear, measurable reporting showing improvements in tracking, coverage and early organic metrics.
