Key Responsibilities JOB DESCRIPTION Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views. Analyze slow-performing queries and optimize execution plans to improve database performance. Design and implement indexing strategies to enhance query efficiency. Work with developers to optimize database interactions in applications. Develop and implement Teradata best practices for large-scale data processing and ETL workflows. Monitor and troubleshoot Teradata performance issues using tools like DBQL (Database Query Log), Viewpoint, and Explain Plan Analysis. Perform data modeling, normalization, and schema design improvements. Collaborate with teams to implement best practices for database tuning and performance enhancement. Automate repetitive database tasks using scripts and scheduled jobs. Document database architecture, queries, and optimization techniques. Responsibilities Required Skills & Qualifications: Strong proficiency in Teradata SQL, including query optimization techniques. Strong proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL, or equivalent). Experience with indexing strategies, partitioning, and caching techniques. Knowledge of database normalization, denormalization, and best practices. Familiarity with ETL processes, data warehousing, and large datasets. Experience in writing and optimizing stored procedures, triggers, and functions. Hands-on experience in Teradata performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, and statistics collection. Experience with EXPLAIN plans, DBQL analysis, and Teradata Viewpoint monitoring.
