About the Department: Aftermarket Technology Aftermarket Technology provides critical technical solutions to ensure vehicle uptime, supporting sales, mechanics, parts personnel, and service points. The team develops and delivers diagnostic tools, repair information, service planning, spare parts information, and more. The team operates from Ageo and Bangalore and works closely with Engineering, Quality, and End-Customers.
Role Overview: As a Technical Support Engineer, you will act as a central support contact for dealers and service centers. You will handle technical queries related to parts, diagnostics, service updates, and vehicle functionality via tools like the Argus system. Your role will include case management, stakeholder coordination, quality monitoring, and feedback consolidation for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Provide expert technical support to UD Trucks dealers and service centers
Manage and resolve service requests related to vehicle performance, parts, and diagnostics
Achieve KPIs related to case resolution, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction
Drive and lead Front Office (FO) and Back Office (BO) meetings
Represent Aftermarket in Quality Journal (QJ) and Product Modification Requests (QPMR)
Create and present findings in Aftermarket Reference Group (AMRG)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Engineering, Quality, Service, etc.
Support system/tool improvements through bug reports and change requests
Contribute to aftermarket deliverables across diagnostics, service, and spare parts
Conduct quality audits and ensure compliance with defined processes
Work in flexible shifts to ensure 24x7 global support coverage
Technical & Tool Competence
Automotive Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of commercial vehicle systems
Knowledge of GDP (Global Development Process)
Proficiency in diagnosing vehicle-fitted components
Understanding of Aftermarket business across Spare Parts, Service, and Diagnostics
Tools & Systems:
Engineering Tools: KOLA, EDB
Dealer Tools: Impact, Dealer Portal
Diagnostics Tools: Tech Tool, SW Configurator, Baldo
Issue Management: Argus
Authoring Tools: SID, Grips, Glopps, LISA
