Position - Sr. System Administrator
Location - Kolkata
Roles & responsibilities -
l Manage and monitor internal systems, servers, and network infrastructure (Linux and/or Windows-based).
l Configure and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or similar).
l Ensure system availability, performance, and security across all environments.
l Support software development teams with infrastructure and deployment requirements.
l Manage infrastructure supporting .NET, PHP, and mobile app development (e.g., IIS, Apache, MySQL, MSSQL, CI/CD tools).
l Oversee data backup strategies-local, cloud, incremental, and full backups-with regular testing and documentation of recovery plans.
l Automate routine tasks using Bash, PowerShell, or Python scripting.
l Support client hardware and server infrastructure as needed, including installation, monitoring, and patching.
l Administer user access, internal networks, firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection systems.
l Ensure system security with role-based access control, audit logs, and compliance with IT policies.
l Conduct periodic security audits and patch management.
l Maintain up-to-date documentation for system architecture, Configurations, backups, and standard operating procedures.
l Mentor junior IT staff and provide escalation support.
l Liaise with vendors and service providers for technical support and Procurement.
Requirements -
l Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
l 7+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
l Proven experience in managing hybrid IT environments (in-house, cloud, virtual).
l Strong background in server infrastructure, HA design, backup systems, and security protocols.
l Familiarity with GIS systems, hardware integration, and field data workflows is a strong plus.
l Excellent understanding of software infrastructure support for .NET, PHP, and mobile platforms.
l Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and tools for monitoring, cost control, and scaling.
l Experience managing cross-functional teams and vendor relationships.
l Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
l Relevant certifications (AWS, Azure, ITIL, CISSP, PMP) are highly desirable.
