Team Overview
Join us as a Senior Software Developer in Chandigarh working on our SaaS application written in Java. You will work on high-performance backend financial services systems, shaping our Spire platform’s evolution while collaborating with product leads, engineers, and client-facing teams.
Role Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Build and optimise RESTful APIs to ensure seamless integration with internal systems and third-party services.
- Write efficient SQL queries and apply strong database optimisation skills for high-volume systems.
- Apply knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns to deliver clean, maintainable code.
- Contribute to architecture discussions and drive the technical roadmap of the Spire platform.
- Implement best practices including unit testing, code reviews, CI/CD automation, and troubleshooting live systems.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and support teams to deliver high-quality releases.
- Mentor junior developers and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
Required Skills
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in Java development with Spring Boot.
- Strong expertise in SQL, database design, and performance tuning.
- Proven ability to design and deliver microservices and REST APIs at scale.
- Solid foundation in object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures.
- Experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito) and build tools (Maven, Gradle).
- Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and version control (Git).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Exposure to front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular/React) is a plus.
