Senior Quality Analyst

We are seeking a skilled Data Migration Test Engineer with 6-8 years of experience and strong expertise in ETL testing, data validation, and automation scripting to support a critical data migration project. The ideal candidate will work closely with developers, database administrators, and project teams to validate data accuracy and consistency during migration from legacy systems to modern platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Collaborate with development and DBA teams to understand data migration strategies, source/target schemas, and transformation logic.

• Validate data integrity, completeness, and accuracy between legacy and target systems post-migration.

• Design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases based on migration requirements.

• Develop and run SQL queries to perform row-level and aggregate-level data validation.

• Leverage Python and libraries such as Pandas and NumPy for automating large dataset comparisons.

• Identify and document data inconsistencies or defects; collaborate with development teams for resolution.

• Perform performance and regression testing of ETL jobs and data pipelines.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes and automation coverage.

Required Skills:

• 
  Strong experience in writing complex SQL queries for data validation, transformation checks, and reconciliation.

• Hands-on experience with ETL/data migration testing and data quality assurance.

• Proficiency in Python, especially for data analysis and automation tasks.

• Experience using automation frameworks like PyTest for scripting and test execution.

• Solid understanding of Unix/Linux environments, including shell scripting, cron job scheduling, and log file analysis.

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).

• Experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools is a plus.

• Comfortable working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 
  Experience with large-scale database migrations (e.g., AS400 to Postgres or Oracle to Cloud platforms).

• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools.

• Experience in cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) is an added advantage.
