Senior Mechanical Engineer

Are you a committed and skilled mechanical engineer ready to take your UAV experience to the next level? VEDA Aeronautics Private Limited is building India’s next generation of unmanned aerial systems for logistics, defence, and strategic applications. We’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years of experience to lead the refinement of our UAV platforms and develop ancillary systems and tooling that accelerate production and enhance reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Refine and optimise existing UAV mechanical designs for manufacturability and serviceability.
• Design or identify correct methodologies for ancillary systems like:
• Payload adapters, quick-release mounts, and ground support tools
• Test jigs, assembly fixtures, and transport enclosures
• Create / edit detailed CAD models, production drawings, and assembly documentation.
• Collaborate with production teams to improve assembly processes and reduce build time.
• Conduct simulations (FEA, vibration, thermal) and guide physical testing.
• Evaluate, onboard, and manage vendors for fabricated parts and assemblies.
• Support procurement planning and coordinate technical sourcing with the supply chain.
• Develop comprehensive technical manuals for production, repair, and maintenance.

What We’re Looking For

• B.E./M.E. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of mechanical design and manufacturing experience in UAVs, aerospace, robotics, or related industries.
• Expert in CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX); FEA experience a plus.
• Strong background in DFM, DFA, and hands-on prototyping.
• Proven experience in vendor development and procurement support.
• Strong documentation skills – able to create clear production and maintenance manuals.
• A dedicated, detail-oriented professional with a passion for innovation and execution.
