POSITION: Senior Marketing Manager GRADE: MM4 REPORTING: Director INTRODUCTION: We are seeking a creative and experienced Senior Marketing Manager to join our team. The Senior Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing marketing campaigns that promote our company and its products/services. Your role will include planning, executing, and measuring the success of marketing campaigns across various channels. You will also be responsible for managing the marketing budget, conducting market research, and analysing trends to identify new opportunities. The purpose of a Marketing Manager is to play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's success, fostering growth, and maintaining a strong market presence PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY & AUTHORITY: The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness, drive customer acquisition, and increase market share. This involves overseeing all marketing activities, including campaign management, market research, digital marketing, and team leadership, to ensure alignment with the companys business goals and objectives. Authority to develop and implement marketing strategies and plans. Make decisions on marketing initiatives and campaigns to meet business objectives. Approve marketing expenditures within the allocated budget Lead, manage, and develop the marketing team. Select and manage relationships with external agencies, vendors, and partners. Negotiate contracts and agreements with third-party service providers. Approve all marketing materials and communications to ensure brand consistency Make final decisions on campaign strategies, messaging, and channels. Conduct and approve market research and data analysis. Direct digital marketing efforts, including SEO, SEM, social media, and email marketing. Manage public relations efforts and media relations. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY: Secondary responsibilities for a Marketing Manager support the primary responsibilities and ensure the smooth operation of the marketing department. These tasks often involve more detailed and routine activities that contribute to the overall success of marketing efforts. Ensure content aligns with brand voice and messaging guidelines. Assist with logistics, promotional activities, and post-event analysis. Maintain marketing databases and customer relationship management (CRM) systems. Handle routine administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining marketing calendars. Communicate marketing plans and performance updates to internal stakeholders. Provide regular updates and insights to the marketing team and senior management. Collect and analyse customer feedback to improve marketing strategies and customer experience. Assist in the training and on-boarding of new marketing team members. Manage the logistics of promotional items and marketing collateral. Track and analyse key performance metrics for various marketing activities. Provide detailed reports on campaign performance, website analytics, and social media engagement. PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL: Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field or MBA Marketing. Marketing Analytics: Train on how to use data analytics tools to track and measure marketing performance, and how to use insights to optimise campaigns. Marketing Campaign Management: Provide guidance on planning, executing, and evaluating marketing campaigns across various channels. Marketing Automation: Introduce tools and techniques for automating repetitive marketing tasks, such as email workflows and social media scheduling. Consumer Behaviour: Understand the psychology and behaviour of consumers to better tailor marketing strategies and messages. Budgeting and ROI: Teach how to develop and manage marketing budgets, and how to calculate return on investment (ROI) for marketing initiatives. Leadership and Team Management: Provide training on leadership skills, team building, and effective communication to manage a marketing team effectively. Industry Trends: Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in marketing, including new technologies and strategies. Ethics and Compliance: Ensure that marketing managers understand ethical considerations and legal requirements related to marketing practices. Presentation and Communication Skills: Train on how to effectively present marketing plans and strategies to stakeholders, both internally and externally. ANY SPECIFIC TRAINING REQUIREMENT: Training for a marketing manager, or someone in a senior marketing leadership role, should focus on enhancing strategic thinking, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
